Delve into Beypore's artisanal scene, featuring the diverse handicraft heritage of India. The Beypore RT Fest and Textile Art Fest 2023 organised by Kerala’s Responsible Tourism Mission (RT Mission) brings the hardship of artisans to the spotlight along with the state's advocacy for sustainable and inclusive tourism. The event hosted as part of the Beypore International Water Festival features various arts and craft traditions encompassing age-old tradition of pottery, weaving, murals, Rajasthan block-printing and a lot more in the forefront.
In addition, the expo will present a diverse list of products including tourist souvenirs, as well as agricultural and food products from various units of the State RT Mission at an affordable price. The event includes discussions and workshops focused on conserving craft traditions and harnessing them to promote tourism, ultimately benefiting local communities.
The fest has participation from 17 states including Tamil Nadu, Assam, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Puducherry, Odisha, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Kerala Tourism Minister Mr. P.A. Mohamed Riyas inaugurated the festival on December 27 at E.K. Nayanar Mini Stadium at Nallur in Feroke. The expo that started on December 26 will conclude by December 30.
