If one is serious about travelling to a place to enjoy its true flavour, then it's a homestay that I would recommend. It is meaningless to travel to a part of the world which is not your home and yet carry with you all the things which make it a replica of the place/culture etc from which you desire a break. It is for this very reason that Flower Valley Homestay has earned my respect and my love. An elderly couple, Ancy and her husband, handle the entire matter as soon as one steps into their premises - oh so divine - and takes care of the guests affectionately yet professionally. I use the word 'professionally' because they never force themselves on the guests though they are very attentive to their needs. We enjoyed food prepared by Ancy - just as we wanted it. We loved the Appam, the parmputa (a steam cake made with rice and coconut), the idlis, dosas, chicken, the fried fish, the fried rice, the lemon rice (we had requested for it and Ancy prepared it so well), the bananas fresh fr

We couldn't have chosen a better place for our five days in Munnar and felt so welcomed and looked after by our hosts Joy and Ancy. Abin was on hand via phone message to help advise and organise our stay and this homestay is a family business with heart. The spacious, comfortable, and sparkling clean room is part of the family house, and the terrace looks over a garden with a stunning collection of flowers and plants (the business includes a successful plant nursery, worthy of a visit in its own right) so sometimes just wandering the grounds or relaxing on the terrace watching birds come and go was enough activity! With interesting local walks, trips to nearby scenic spots (guided and driven to by the excellent and knowledgeable Jason) and patient, helpful and reliable driver Ajeesh to take us on full day excursions, we had plenty to do. But this homestay really is made exceptional by the Ancy's generous hospitality, and her superb food - we were truly spoiled by the quality and variet

A large beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the flower nursery and the large trees in the surrounding cardamon plantations. We enjoyed the local food served in the family dining room and getting to know the family.
