5 Nestoria

We stayed at Nestoria Homestay, Marayur as a family, and it honestly felt like home away from home. The warmth and hospitality here make you feel truly cared for, something you rarely find these days. The food was delicious and comforting—perfect for a family stay.
Waking up to greenery, jade vines, and hummingbirds was a joy, and the calm atmosphere made the stay very special. One thing you must try is the night drive to Chinnar—we were lucky to see elephants, wild gaur, sambar deer, and even leopards. Kanthalloor is also a beautiful drive and worth visiting.
The Muniyaras (ancient Stone Age structures) are just a short walk away, which added a unique experience for all of us. This is a place where memories are made, especially with family. Truly a stay we’ll always remember

5 Nestoria Homestay Marayoor

By lucky coincidence I found this lovely family run homestay, as my original homestay was not immediately available. Located in a small side road, a little bit outside the village of Marayoor I walked through a small frontyard, affectionately decorated with lovely smelling flowers and different kinds of colourful plants.
My accomodation: an elegantly furnished and spacious room with a queen size bed, equipped with a very comfortable mattress and a warm fluffy cover for cool nights in the hills of Marayoor. The enclosed bathroom nicely decorated with hot water available day and night.
A lunch was prepared later on by Minnie, the owner's wife and I must confess that it was probably the best and most tasty rice dish I have ever had in India: various vegetables, different curries, masalas, thoran, sambars and pickles accompanied by papads and roti.
The accomodation and the warm hearted and friendly family made my stay unforgettable and I will certainly come back next year.
