About 15 km away from Kochi city is the popular amusement park - Wonderla. Spread over 30 acres of land Wonderla offers more than 50 amusement rides. Formerly known as Veega Land this amusement park has completed 12 successful and safe years of operation. The park, situated on top of a hill at Pallikkara, is one of the most popular fun parks in India.

Built and maintained to match international standards, Wonderla, set up by the V-Guard Group in 2000, was designed by architect Joseph John. This was the first amusement park to be awarded the ISO 14001-2004 for environmental friendliness and conservation of natural resources.

All the rides in Wonderla can be classed into four main groups: kids' rides, dry rides, water rides and high thrill rides. Kids' rides are designed and built keeping in mind the safety requirement of kids. These fun-packed rides will surely catch the imagination of kids and keep them entertained.

Moonwalker, kiddies wheel, pirate ship, balloon tower and castle jet are some of the popular items in this section. 'Flying Ammu' is an interesting ride in this section in which kids are seated atop elephants while being spun round in circles. The balloon tower takes kids bouncing up and down and swirling around in colourful balloons that go up to a height of 10 meters.

The dry rides comprise state-of-the-art land rides, sky rides and hi-thrill rides. Want to meet wizards, witches, skeletons and evil spirits inside a dark eerie cave? Then get into the Balarama cave, a fully computer controlled one where you see creatures of the night whiz past you and darts aimed right at your face. The cine magic ride combines high definition stereoscopic 3D video with multi-channel surround sound, high power blowers and hydraulic assisted seats that swing and sway in perfect sync with the scenes projected on the screen.

Spinning coaster, which is a nearly 300 m long exhilarating coaster ride, thunder fall, which gives you a freefall from the top of a steel tower to ground zero, are some of the exciting rides in the high thrill rides section.

For their excellent services provided in this field Wonderla Holidays Pvt. Ltd. was recently honoured by Kerala Tourism with the award for Best Tourism Destination in the year 2012.
