Going the full length on a half done bridge

What is there to explore, if you are to follow the beaten track? The unexplored have always given one the share of excitement and adventure that is worth experiencing. So, why not explore something on your own. This one is for those who love trails less traveled by. And we have the pleasure to take you to a destination that has a varied terrain and an excellent choice for a tranquil night stay and for great trekking experience. Nestled atop the magical Western Ghats, Pakuthipaalam abounds in the grandeur of nature. It is located 12 km from Nelliyampathy.

You can avail of assistance from the Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) at Nooradi. On the way to the resort from Nooradi, take a look at the dilapidated Victoria church. The renovation of the nearby fort is on and the church set in the backdrop of the vast greenery of the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve digs up a glorious past. Leave behind the unfinished bridge from which the place got its name ‘Pakuthipaalam’ (meaning half done bridge).

Amid tall trees and the plantations of coffee and cinnamon is the KFDC resort at Pakuthipaalam. The cool and the lingering aroma in the air strike the first chord of serenity. If you have a zeal for adventure, you may go for a jeep safari in the night along the winding pathways watching some of the birds and animals that are passionately in love with the dark.

The grand spectacle of the dawn is one of the best things you can enjoy here. Wake up early in the morning to behold the sight of the rising sun. Tread the meandering pathways of plantations paved by fallen leaves, tuning yourself to the melody of birds. It’s a harmony of different sorts. If you are lucky enough, you can see the Lion-tailed Macaque, one of the world's endangered primates. You can also visit the Muneeswaran Kovilpara temple, a simple structure consisting only of rocks, lamps and bells.

Accommodation, food, campfire and trekking include the package here at the KFDC resort. Don’t miss the viewpoints on the way down. It presents some of the best moods of nature. Pakuthipaalam resort is an absolutely mesmerizing one reveling in simplicity. Yes, it is a half done bridge, as the name Pakuthipaalam indicates; but full of memorable experiences.
