This beautiful hilly hamlet in Idukki has a nice, pleasant climate and sprawling fields of vegetables and fruits. Kanthalloor is 50 km from Munnar. 

With its green patches of land and hills, valleys, orchards and farms, Kanthalloor is the delight of Nature lovers and tourists. The ideal location of this village makes it perfect for the cultivation of a wide varieties of fruits and vegetables. This is one place in Kerala where you get to see apples growing in profusion.  

Kanthalloor is also known for Orange, Strawberry, Blackberry, Plums, Gooseberry, Egg fruits, peach, Sugarcane and passion fruit. Cauliflower, cabbage, carrot, beans, potato, and garlic are also grown here. Kanthalloor farmers also specialise in terrace farming and are adept at carving steps out of hilly slopes and making just enough space to cultivate crops; yet another sight to enjoy in Kanthalloor. 

Even with its charming sights and ambience, Kanthalloor has an unexplored air about it, making every tourist fall in love with this place. The presence of famous tourist destinations near Kanthalloor like Munnar, Anaimudi Sholai national park, stunning view points, Pattiseri dam, Keezhanthoor waterfalls also lend value to Kanthalloor as a tourist destination. The tranquil weather, the lush landscape and a calm locale have endeared Kanthalloor to travellers. 

The sheer location makes it an all-time place to visit. However, tourists can choose the time of their visit if they want to see and experience the best of farm tourism. One can take a 12 km drive to Marayoor from Kanthalloor or to Kundala dam which is 14 km away. Almost similar to Kanthalloor in landscape, Marayoor is famous for sandalwood trees and sites of archaeological importance. 

Tourists with a penchant for photography love Kanthalloor during the rainy season. It takes on an enticing form following the showers, giving plenty of choices to photographers to capture the best of Kanthalloor.
