KTM a boost to the surge of Kerala Tourism

The 11th edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), which was held in Kochi from May 5 to 8, 2022, gave a boost to the growth of the Kerala tourism industry in post-Covid world, Kerala Chief Secretary V. P. Joy said during the concluding ceremony.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan inaugurated the country’s biggest tourism Business-to-Business (B2B) event on May 5. A meaningful engagement among different States is crucial for sustainable and inclusive development of tourism, he said.

The inaugural day saw Kerala Tourism presenting a curtain-raiser of the second edition of Champions Boat League snake-boat race. Director of Kerala Tourism V.R. Krishna Teja made a presentation on the latest trends and products of the State.

A total of 55,000 business meets were hosted over three days at the 11th edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM). The KTM 2022 software enabled 49,000 online interactions between buyers and sellers and 6,000 allied one-on-ones also took place, President of the KTM Society, Baby Mathew, said. There were 1,500 buyers from 25 States and over 300 from 59 countries.

Kerala’s caravan tourism project, titled ‘Keravan Kerala’, elicited keen interest from foreign and domestic buyers at the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) at Willingdon Island.

The concluding day saw a heavy rush of visitors at Sagara and Samudrika convention centres as the fair was thrown open to the public in the afternoon.
