KTDC will remain in public sector.

Chief Minister K Nayanar, recently, reiterated that the KTDC will remain in the public sector though there were rumours to the contrary, which he termed completely baseless.

KTDC which has been hailed as Kerala?s model PSU is the only PSU that has repaid all Govt loans. The government loan for KTDC amounted to Rs 4.45 crore. The Corporation has also wiped out losses accumulated since 1965 in the last four years and posted profits.

Its other recent laurels include a national award for the most innovative product which went to Pradakshina, the houseboat holiday package and another national award for the best two-star property in South India ? Hotel Samudra, Kovalam.

Presently, the KTDC has hotel projects worth Rs 24 crore. While work on the renovation of the Kochi Bolgatty Palace is over, there are plans to improve Hotel Muscat of Thiruvananthapuram to the level of a five-star deluxe category.
