Model eco-tourism project at Kozhikode soon
The model eco-tourism project proposed at Kozhikode will be launched soon, Mr. K. C. Venugopal, Minister for Tourism said. The project will be a model for other states in the country. The minister was speaking after inaugurating the tenth edition of Malabar Mahotsav. The Union Government has sanctioned Rs. 1000 million for the protection and beautification of various beaches in the state including Kappad and Kozhikode, the minister said. Mr. M. Bhaskaran, Mayor of Kozhikode Corporation, who was the chief guest of the function, opined that the scope of the event could be widened. Vocal concerts, drama festival, classical dance festival, literary festival, folk arts festival and food fest were organised as part of the event.
