Sri Lankan Airlines for tourism tie-ups with Kerala
The Sri Lankan Airlines has expressed its desire to team up with Kerala Tourism, for which specially designed projects would be developed and implemented by the premier air carrier of the neighbouring island nation.
According to the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Airways, Mr. Daya Pelpola, Colombo is slowly emerging as the gateway to the fast growing tourism markets in India. Mr. Pelpola cited the recent increase in number of passengers from India to Sri Lanka, which amounts to an increase of 100 percent. The trend is also evident with more and more islanders coming to India. The
recently started flight service in the Colombo-Kochi-Colombo sector is already showing good response, Mr. Pelpola added.
