Subsidy for Tourism Sector.

As part of the tourism promotion drive, the department of tourism has invited application from investors in the tourism sector for the grant of subsidy.

Projects which are eligible for the subsidy scheme are hotels with star classification, motels recognised by the State Government, restaurants recognised by the Central Government, tour operators recognised by the Central Government, amusement parks recognised by the State Government, institutions giving training in the traditional art forms of Kerala, handicrafts units recognised by the Central Government, Ayurveda centres approved by the department of Tourism and houseboats.

Subsidy will be given only if the project is complete and functional. Hotels and Ayurveda centres which come under the limit of the three corporations, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode are not eligible for subsidy under this section.

In addition, project which have availed any kind of subsidy from Central/State Government will not be eligible for subsidy under this scheme.
