Adventure tourism project at Munnar.
Thiruvananthapuram: Tea County, the
recently opened hill resort of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC)
at Munnar has a new range of adventure tourism facilities. The project has been
taken up in association with the National Adventure Federation.
Paragliding, tandem jumping and tow-along at
the Mattupetty dam near Munnar, trekking at Rajamalai etc., are few of the
planned adventure activities here. Tea County will provide the service of a
trainer for paragliding, along with the equipments. Apart from these, facilities
like a golf course, Ayurveda centre, health club etc., are the other
specialities at the resort which is built on eight acres of wooded hills.
Built
at a cost of about Rs. 80 million, Tea County offers 43 rooms and a conference
hall with a seating capacity of 200.
