Foundation stone laid for Nehru Trophy Pavilion.
The laying of the foundation
stone for the Nehru Trophy Pavilion being built by the State Tourism Department
and the inauguration of the construction of the Alappuzha-Punnamada tourism
road, jointly held at a function held on December 17, 2001, was carried out by
the Minister of Tourism, Prof. K. V. Thomas.
The meeting, held at the Nehru
Trophy finishing point, was presided over by Mr. K. C. Venugopal MLA. Mr. V. M.
Sudheeran MP was the chief guest. Tourism Secretary Mr. T. Balakrishnan and
Tourism Director Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma also spoke at the function.
