?Soorya Festival? begins on Sept. 21.
51-day annual Soorya Festival
begins on September 21.This year?s Soorya Festival will begin on
21st September and will be inaugurated by the cine star Mr. Mammooty.
This year, the festival will have Ramayana Festival besides the regular
programmes that have been part of the festival in the past years. A festival of
classic Indian films, titles ?Old is Gold? will be a major attraction this
year and would feature films like ?Do Ankhein Baarah Haath?, ?Mrugaya?
etc.Painting exhibition, ethnic food festival, crafts festival, artists?
village and open forum will be part of the event.
The dance and music festival will feature eminent artistes like Mr. K. J.
Jesudas, Ms. Bombay Jayasree,Ms. Padma Subramaniam,Ms. Chitra Visweshwaran,Ms.
Daksha Seth and others. The 51-day extravaganza will also have a ?Talk
festival?, a theatre festival ,and Kaviyarangu (session for poetry recital),
and video festival. The festival will conclude on November 11.
