'Yatra' to honour India's historic figures
Now, some of India?s greatest personalities would become the inspiration for a novel tourism avenue ?Yatra? which would connect the travel routes of historic figures like, Mahatma Gandhi, Adi Sankara and Swami Vivekananda.
According to the Union Minister for Tourism, Mr. Jagmohan, preliminary details are being worked out for giving final shape to the project. Mr. Jagmohan also pointed out that, Thiruvananthapuram has also been included in the Southern Travel Circuit project, which was proposed couple of months back.
As part of the latest project ?Yatra?, Kerala will also get its due share through Adi Sankara, the master of Advaita philosophy. To make this possible, the Central Tourism Department has given sanction for the travel circuit, which would take tourists from the birthplace of Adi Sankara in Kerala to other parts of the country, where the great seer had graced with his presence and enlightened millions with his wisdom.
