Kerala tourism to take up the conservation of forts in Kasaragod district
The Kerala Tourism, in association
with the Department of Archaeology, has taken up the project for the
conservation of three forts in the Kasaragod district. The conservation efforts
on the three forts namely, Chandragiri Fort, Arikkadi Fort and Povval Fort in
Kasaragod, will be carried out in two phases at an approximate cost of Rs.9.9
million.
Kerala Tourism has set aside an amount of Rs.20 million for the
process of beautification of forts and conservation of monuments in Thalassery,
Kannur and Bekal .The work will be implemented through the Department of
Archaeology, Thiruvananthapuram.
