Kerala Tourism Wins National Award

Kerala Tourism has earned yet another accolade. It has won the national ‘Web Ratna Award 2014’ for 'Outstanding Content’.

The Kerala Tourism website (www.keralatourism.org) won the Golden Icon award in the 'Outstanding Content' category of the Web Ratna Awards, instituted by the Union government under the ambit of the National Portal of India.

Mr. G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, Secretary, Kerala Tourism received the award from Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

"The Web Ratna Award is a recognition to our continuing efforts to make innovative use of modern technology, helping us to remain as one of most favoured travel destinations in the world," said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.

"As a pioneer in using information technology, Kerala Tourism reaches people around the world through its informative, creative and technology backed website," said Mr. G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, Secretary, Kerala Tourism.

"Our website is a significant tool for continuing interactions with our guests and potential visitors in the future," said Mr. P. I. Sheik Pareeth, Director, Kerala Tourism.

The award ceremony was held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

The Kerala Tourism website, designed and maintained by Invis Multimedia, is among the top tourism portals in the world. It has won several national and international awards including six National Awards and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award, for its innovative use of information technology to promote tourism across the world.
