Actor Mohanlal launched a new mobile application by Kerala Tourism which provides information on tourist destinations with a single click.
Mr Mohanlal said the mobile app will be a great help to the tourists. The real-time audio guide of the app can be activated to provide tourists with five tourist spots around their current location.
The app will help tourists find out new tourist destinations and also record their travel experiences.
Tourism Minister Mr P.A. Mohamed Riyas said the platform, which highlights the state’s tourist hotspots, was aimed at projecting its unexplored destinations. The department has identified one such destination in each panchayat.
Apart from being used for exploring the tourist attractions, the app can help travellers share information and visuals of new-found destinations, find restrooms and restaurants.
The app will list the attractions near the place of stay, provide directions, and display pictures and videos of the state as well. The Travel Desk will share travel tips, details of maps, souvenir shops and other useful information.
The app also gives information on Ayurvedic centres, Monsoon Festival calendar, Festival calendar and 1,000 festivals of Kerala.
The initiatives of Responsible Tourism Mission, and the village life experiences under them will be listed in the app.
Within six months, the app will be revised by adding new features.
