Nefertiti, Kerala Shipping Inland Navigation Corporation’s (KSINC) cruise ship, is back in the Arabian Sea after repair works. Nefertiti gives tourists a golden chance to watch the bewitching coastline of Kochi with Chinese fishing nets, country boats and centuries-old buildings amid the cruise along the Arabian Sea at an affordable rate.
The 45-metre vessel has a banquet hall, children’s playing area, restaurant, sun deck and a 3D theatre. Launched in 2018, the vessel can also be used for business meets, weddings and other celebrations.
Nefertiti starts its journey at 2:30 pm from Ernakulam wharf at Willingdon Island in Kochi and returns by 8 pm. The interiors of the vessel look like a star hotel and ooze elegance and class. It has two floors named Sistra (an Egyptian musical instrument) and Horus (a mythical protector of Egypt). The Sistra has a banquet hall where we can enjoy live cultural performances while having refreshments. The hall opens to a veranda from where we get a splendid view of the mainland, especially Fort Kochi, the container terminal and shipyard. The upstairs has a cosy restaurant along with a host of entertainment options.
Stepping out of the restaurant will lead us to the bridge deck, which gives one of the best views of the surroundings.
