Kerala Tourism department to set up Tourism Clubs in colleges

The Department of Tourism is setting up Tourism clubs on campuses across the state to draw youngsters to the tourism sector and prepare them with right skillsets to tap the job opportunities.

The objective of the Tourism Clubs is to make use of the potential of the youth in the proper maintenance of tourism centres. It will also create a platform to ideate as well as develop concepts and themes to promote tourism in the state.

The initiative will also create opportunities for students to work and save through ‘Earn While You Learn’ programme.  It offers opportunities to students to work as part-time tourist guides as part of Tourism club activities.

Tourism Clubs will fashion future professionals in the tourism sector, instill in them an awareness to conserve Nature and heritage, and inculcate a global perspective as well as help them discover untapped tourism destinations.
