Kerala State Water Transport department (SWTD) is all set to step up tourism in the backwaters and the sea in God’s Own Country. It is rolling out budget tour packages to explore the serene water bodies of the state. The See Ashtamudi package, Veli-Kadinamkulam Lake trip and cruise ship trip in Kochi are some of the popular budget tour packages.
In ‘See Ashtamudi’, a double-decker boat with a capacity to accommodate 90 people will cruise through the scenic Ashtamudi lake and visit the mangroves of Sambranikodi. Seats can be reserved in advance and the ticket rates are ?500 and ?400 for the upper and lower decks respectively. For reservations, contact +91 94000 50390.
With two services daily, the Veli-Kadinamkulam trip covers 12 km and offers a scenic view of the backwaters.
