Kerala Tourism’s digital presence reached a new high during the 2024-25 financial year, with its official website securing the top spot among all State tourism portals in India. Analytics firm 'Similarweb' reported that keralatourism.org outperformed the Union government’s ‘Incredible India’ website, which stood in second place for the same period. Globally, Kerala’s site achieved the second rank among both travel and tourism websites, as well as in the broader tourism industry category. Thailand Tourism led all three global lists, while Vietnam, Incredible India and Indonesia followed Kerala in the rankings.
Launched in 2007, Similarweb.com is a globally recognized authority for web-traffic analytics. Data from Google Analytics indicated that the Kerala Tourism website welcomed six million unique users who made 7.9 million visits, collectively garnering more than 15 million page views between April 2024 and March 2025.
Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas, Minister, Kerala Tourism, noted that the website’s achievement underscored Kerala’s international reputation as a tourism hotspot. He highlighted Kerala Tourism’s forward-looking approach, which includes continuous digital innovation and new product development to match evolving traveller preferences. The website, known for its user-friendly design and extensive information, plays a key role in promoting Kerala’s tourism activities worldwide.
Search engines accounted for majority of the site’s traffic, bringing in approximately 5.8 million visitors. Over one million users accessed the website directly by entering keralatourism.org, while nearly one million arrived via online advertisements. Visitors from around 200 countries explored various sections of the site, browsing through accommodation options, tourist attractions, tour packages, heli-tourism, wedding venues, event calendars, Theyyam performances and yoga retreats.
Boasting over 100,000 pages, the Kerala Tourism website offers high-resolution imagery, interactive videos, a travel planner, live webcasts and e-newsletters. Its visually engaging design and multilingual support in more than 20 languages ensure a comprehensive digital experience for a global audience. The site was conceptualised, designed and maintained by Invis Private Limited, Kerala Tourism’s official IT partner.
Previously recognised as one of the top 10 tourism websites in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, the site had recorded nearly 10 million visitors and over 20 million page views during the 2023–24 financial year, further establishing Kerala’s digital leadership in tourism promotion.
