Chandragiri Fort and River

An ancient 17th century fort near the banks of the Chandragiri River is the soul of Chandragiri, in Kasaragod district. The Chandragiri Fort offers a stunning view of the river and the Arabian Sea. The Chandragiri river was the border between two erstwhile kingdoms - the Kolathunadu and Thulunadu. The fort is an ideal vantage point to soak in the dazzling sunset. There is a quaint bridge over the river at Tekkil some five miles from Chandragiri. Some of the other fun activities one can undertake here include boat trips to nearby islands and palm groves.
