Ranipuram Hills

Covered with evergreen shola forests, monsoon forests and grass savannahs, Ranipuram is famous for its trekking trails. It is located at 750 m above sea level. Earlier it was known as Madathumala. Tourist cottages are available for stay from which one can see wandering elephant herds. Jeep services to Ranipuram are readily available from Panathady, linked to Kanhangad by frequent bus services.
