Kozhikode (Feroke) has become a new surfing spot in Kerala. It is famous for long sandy beaches, steady waves, and a coast that is relatively calm. Here the beach is a perfect place for beginners to learn surfing in a safe environment, while intermediate surfers can catch the regular swells at the peak season. Since there are fewer people as compared to other popular beaches, Feroke gives a peaceful and concentrated surfing experience that is very close to nature.

The coast here is powered by the currents from the river mouth and the waves from the open sea, which results in small breaks that are perfect for training sessions and recreational surfing. This is why Feroke is becoming a local surf community and youth-driven surf initiative center in North Kerala.
