Kuttiadi

Kuttiadi is a small picturesque village situated about 78 kms from Kozhikode. Besides being the site for a major power project of the state " the Kuttiadi  Hydro Electric Power Project -the place is known for its historical significance. Kuttiadi which features one of the chief passes to Wayanad was of great strategic importance during the Pazhassi rebellion. 

Sometime in the 1950s, two golden swords, believed to have been used by Pazhassi Raja, were unearthed from the region. Kuttiadi is also known for its abundance of coconut trees, and is the chief supplier of coconuts and coconut oil all over Kerala. Overlooking Kuttiadi and its neighbouring regions is the Banasura Peak, which is 1758 metres tall.
